Voting by mail
From the Division of Elections’ vote-by-mail page:
- Ask the Supervisor of Elections for a ballot by 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, online or in writing. You need your Florida driver’s license or ID number, or the last four digits of your Social Security number.
- Your voted ballot must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day. A postmark does not count. The U.S. Postal Service recommends mailing it at least a week ahead.
- You can also drop it at a secure ballot intake station at an early voting site during early voting hours, or deliver it to a Supervisor of Elections office.
- Check your ballot’s status with the state’s vote-by-mail lookup.
What to bring
A current photo ID with your signature, according to the Division of Elections’ Election Day page. Any one of these works:
- Florida driver’s license or Florida ID card
- U.S. passport
- Debit or credit card
- Military, student, retirement center or neighborhood association ID
- Public assistance ID or Veterans Health ID card
- Concealed weapon license
- A federal, state, county or city government employee ID
If the photo ID has no signature, you will be asked for a second ID with one. Without proper ID you can still cast a provisional ballot, which counts if your signature matches your registration record.
On the ballot
Your sample ballot is on the Supervisor of Elections’ website. Among the items, Palm Beach County voters will decide whether the School District of Palm Beach County may keep levying 1 mill of property tax for school operations from July 1, 2027, through June 30, 2031. The ballot question is on the district’s referendum page.
City elections
Boynton Beach’s mayor and city commissioners are elected in March, in city elections. The next city general election is Tuesday, March 14, 2028, for mayor, the District I seat and the District III seat, according to the city’s elections page, which also links a map to find your commission district. Questions go to the City Clerk, 561-742-6060.
